Cananga

YLANG-YLANG or CANANGA ODORATA is a tree native to tropical areas of the world. It is known for its beautiful yellow flowers from which essential oil is extracted and used in aromatherapy.

It is believed to improve hypertension, normalize sebum secretion in problematic skin, and is considered an aphrodisiac. This project is part of a book that will artistically portray the great diversity of endemic flowers from the «La Prosperina» Protected Forest, an institutional program managed by the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral del Ecuador (ESPOL) to protect the flora and fauna of the area.
